Decided it’s time to have blinds fitted in your home?

There are various types of window blinds available – but with their sleek lines and simple operation, roller blinds can transform the look of virtually any room in the house.

They come in a range of colours, patterns and fabrics, and can blend in and complement the décor or create a stunning focal point. However, choosing the right fabric for your roller blinds can be an overwhelming task.

That’s why, to make your decision a little bit easier, we’ve compiled a short list of the different fabrics we supply, and which rooms they work best in.

Blackout roller blinds

Blackout fabrics are perfect for controlling how much light enters the room – providing complete darkness at bedtime and protecting your eyes against the sun’s glare during the day.

You may get some light seeping around the side of the blind. However, our made-to-measure roller blinds in blackout fabric guarantee a perfect fit and will block out as much light as possible.

Best for: Bedrooms. If you work the night shift and need some shut-eye in the daytime, or if little ones refuse to go to sleep until it’s dark outside, you can easily lower the blackout fabric to keep light out.

Waterproof roller blinds

Worried about splashes, spills and humidity ruining your blinds? Do your kids have a habit of touching things with their mucky fingerprints? Opting for roller blinds in waterproof fabric is your best bet.

Combining function and style, these come in an array of gorgeous shades and designs. Some are even fully blackout, which is great for keeping unwanted light and attention out. And best of all, they can be easily wiped clean with a wet cloth.

Best for: Kitchens and bathrooms. While water and humidity would impact the fabric of your blind, this isn’t the case with waterproof roller blinds. They’ll look great for years to come.

Dim-out roller blinds

If you’re eager to do your bit for the environment, dim-out roller blinds are the way to go.

Also known as energy-saving fabrics, they offer privacy and protection from the sun’s glare while keeping your room light and bright. They come in a selection of colours and prints – ranging from soft neutral to bright and bold designs – allowing you to pick a style that complements your décor perfectly.

Best for: Bedrooms, kitchens, conservatories and home offices. Dim-out roller blinds gently diffuse the sunlight and obscure views from outside to increase your privacy and comfort.

ASC roller blinds

Does your home get unbearably hot in the summer? Want to reduce the glare on your screens on sunny days or maintain a comfortable temperature in your conservatory? Well, look no further than ASC roller blinds.

Advanced Solar Control (ASC) fabrics have a special coating that helps to reflect the sunlight more effectively than conventional fabrics – preventing rooms from feeling like a sauna in the summer. They’re also better at retaining heat in the colder months, providing a cosier feel.

Best for: Conservatories. Rooms with large expanses of glass that are directly exposed to sunlight will benefit from roller blinds made from ASC fabric.
